Drops
Usually fixed with a post and butterfly on the ear, drops sit below the ear and extend down the face. Drop earrings add movement to the jewellery for increased visual impact. As opal refracts light, the extra movement of a drop earring highlights the opal through colour play.
Studs
Studs are the all rounders of earrings with a simple post and butterfly configuration. They sit on the ear, being both practical and versatile. Some of our stud earrings have a safety clip which replaces the butterfly.
Shepherds hooks
While strictly speaking these are drop earrings they do deserve a mention due to their popularity. They have the benefit of being easy to take on and off as there are no butterflies, also the shepherds hook suspends the earring below the ear in a very elegant manner.
